Overview
Driven by sustainability, the coatings industry requires high-performance bio-based alternatives. This presentation highlights HOBUM’s latest innovations: Merginol bio-based polyols from vegetable oils, offering tailor-made properties for polyurethanes. Furthermore, advancements in Merginamid water-based epoxy hardeners are introduced, combining fast drying, excellent adhesion, and low VOC profiles. Lastly, innovative bio-based raw materials for cationic UV-curing coatings (Merginat UV) are presented, providing acrylate-free, eco-friendly solutions for durable surfaces, particularly in wood and electronic coating applications. These developments demonstrate how renewable resources seamlessly substitute fossil components without compromising performance.
